UZ 2022 Accepted Students
The University of Zimbabwe (UZ) has announced the names of its 2022 accepted students, who will join the institution for the upcoming academic year. A total of 4,853 students have been selected from a total of 18,000 applications. This marks a significant increase from the 3,589 students accepted in 2021.
The selection process was based on the University’s strict merit-based criteria, which included academic qualifications, aptitude and attitude. The university also considered geographical representation and gender balance, in order to ensure a diverse and well-rounded student body.
The University of Zimbabwe is the oldest and largest university in the country, offering a wide range of courses in the fields of Medicine, Law, Engineering, Science and Technology, Business, and many more.
The majority of the accepted students are from the Harare metropolitan area, with the second-highest number coming from the Midlands Province. The university also welcomed students from all corners of the country, including the provinces of Manicaland, Mashonaland East, Mashonaland West, Masvingo, and Matabeleland South.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Zimbabwe, Professor Levi Nyagura, expressed his excitement at the high number of applications and the exceptional quality of the accepted students. He said, “The University of Zimbabwe is proud to welcome the 4,853 students who have been accepted into our institution in 2022. We are confident that they will be a great addition to our student body and will contribute to the University’s growth and development.”
The University has also announced that it will be offering a range of scholarships and bursaries to assist students with their tuition fees. These include the Higher Education Development Fund (HEDF), the Zimbabwe Educational Assistance Fund (ZEAF), and the Zimbabwe Open University Scholarship.
