The Uganda Public Service Salary Scale 2022/2023 is the salary structure for all public servants employed by the Government of Uganda. It outlines the minimum and maximum salary levels for public servants in the country, as well as the various entitlements and allowances that come with the job.

The latest salary scale, which was issued in October 2021, is applicable to all public servants in Uganda and takes into account the changes in the cost of living. The base salary for public servants in Uganda ranges from UGX 32,000 for the lowest grade to UGX 8.4 million for the highest rank. In addition, the salary scale also provides for a housing allowance, transport allowance, and other benefits such as medical insurance and pension contributions.

The salary scale also takes into account the various allowances and entitlements that are available to public servants in Uganda. These include such things as:

• Education Allowance: This allowance is available to public servants who undertake training and development courses to enhance their knowledge and skills. The allowance ranges from UGX 10,000 to UGX 360,000, depending on the grade and level of the public servant.

• Overtime Allowance: This allowance is provided to public servants who are required to work overtime. It ranges from UGX 4,000 to UGX 200,000, depending on the category and grade of the employee.

• Risk Allowance: This allowance is provided to public servants who are required to work in hazardous or dangerous conditions. The allowance ranges from UGX 10,000 to UGX 300,000, depending on the grade and category of the employee.

• Family Responsibility Allowance: This allowance is available to public servants who have dependents and is determined based on the number of dependents. The allowance ranges from UGX 10,000 to UGX 400,000, depending on the grade and category of the employee.

• Special Duty Allowance: This allowance is provided to public servants who are required to work in remote areas or in difficult circumstances. The allowance ranges from UGX 10,000 to UGX 300,000, depending on the grade and category of the employee.

The Uganda Public Service Salary Scale 2022/2023 is designed to ensure that public servants are adequately remunerated for the important roles they play in the country. It is also designed to motivate public servants and make them more productive in their roles.
