The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) is the body responsible for administering the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations in Uganda. Every year, thousands of students sit for these examinations and the results determine their eligibility for higher education and employment opportunities. For this reason, UNEB releases timetables for the exams each year. The UNEB timetable for 2023 is now available for students and teachers to plan for the upcoming academic year.
The UCE and UACE examinations for 2023 will take place from March to May. The timetable follows a similar pattern to that of previous years, with the exams starting on Monday and ending on Friday. The timetable is as follows:
Monday: English (UCE) and Mathematics (UACE)
Tuesday: Integrated Science (UCE) and Geography (UACE)
Wednesday: History (UCE) and History (UACE)
Thursday: Religious Education (UCE) and General Paper (UACE)
Friday: Economics (UCE) and Information Technology (UACE)
Students should also note that they will have to sit for two compulsory papers: English and Mathematics. These papers will be marked separately and will contribute to the overall score.
In addition, UNEB has also released the timetable for the practical examinations, which will take place from April to May. These will include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Art and Design, Home Economics, Music and Entrepreneurship for the UCE and Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Art and Design, Home Economics, Music and Entrepreneurship for the UACE.
The practical examinations will be held in schools, colleges and universities across the country. Schools and colleges will be responsible for providing the necessary resources and infrastructure for the practical examinations. The practical examinations will be conducted over a period of two weeks and will be marked separately.
Finally, UNEB has also released the timetable for the practical examinations for professional courses such as medicine, engineering and law. These examinations will take place from April to May and will include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering.
It is important for students to familiarise themselves with the UNEB Timetable 2023 as soon as possible. This will help them to plan their studies and prepare for the examinations.
