The University of Namibia (Unam) is now accepting applications for its Mature Age Entry (MAE) program for the 2023 academic year. The MAE program is designed to provide opportunities for individuals who may not have had the opportunity to pursue a formal qualification in the past.
The MAE program is open to all Namibians over the age of 23 who have not previously registered for a degree or diploma at any university. All applicants must provide a certified copy of their Namibian ID and proof of their current status as a Namibian citizen, as well as evidence of their age.
In order to apply for the MAE program, applicants must first complete an online application form which can be found on the Unam website. Applicants must provide personal information such as name, date of birth, address, contact details and educational qualifications. In addition, applicants must provide a brief statement outlining why they feel they are suitable for the MAE program and what their educational goals are.
The next step is to submit all the required documents. These include the completed application form, certified copies of the applicant’s ID and proof of citizenship, and certified copies of the applicant’s educational qualifications (if applicable). Once these documents are received, Unam Admissions will assess the application and may request additional information or documents.
Once the application has been approved, the applicant will be invited to attend an interview. The purpose of the interview is to assess whether the applicant is suitable for the MAE program. During the interview, the interviewer will assess the applicant’s academic and work experience, as well as discuss their educational goals and objectives.
Successful applicants will be notified of their acceptance into the MAE program and will be required to pay a registration fee. The applicant will then be required to register for and complete the MAE program, which consists of a two-year course of study.
