The University of Namibia (UNAM) has announced that applications for Mature Age Entry (MAE) for the 2023 academic year are now open. The Mature Age Entry programme at UNAM is designed to provide access to higher education for those who may have missed out on the opportunity in the past. The programme is open to individuals who are at least 25 years of age and who meet the minimum admission criteria.
The application process for Mature Age Entry is slightly different from the standard admission process. All applicants must first submit a completed application form to UNAM by the deadline of 31 October 2023. The form is available from the UNAM website, and includes sections on education, work experience, and the applicant’s personal statement.
In addition to the application form, applicants must also submit certified copies of their birth certificate and national identity card, as well as official transcripts of their secondary and tertiary education. If the applicant has any work experience, they must also provide references from their employers.
Once the application is complete, applicants will be invited to attend an interview with a selection committee. During the interview, the committee will assess the applicant’s academic and professional qualifications, as well as the personal statement they submitted with their application.
Applicants who are successful in the interview process will then be invited to enrol in the Mature Age Entry programme. Successful applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable deposit of N$1,000 to secure their place in the programme.
The Mature Age Entry programme is a great opportunity for individuals who may have missed out on the opportunity to further their studies in the past. The programme offers flexibility and the chance to gain a higher education qualification from one of Namibia’s leading universities. For those interested in applying, it is important to act quickly, as applications for the 2023 academic year must be submitted by 31 October 2023.
