The Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) is an international survey conducted every three years by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). It is designed to assess the educational performance of 15 to 16 year old students in the major industrialized countries. The most recent PISA survey was conducted in 2018, and the next one is scheduled to take place in 2022.

The 2022 PISA assessment will be the tenth in the series and it is expected to include new and more in-depth questions. These questions will assess students’ knowledge and skills in reading, mathematics, science, and problem solving. Additionally, the 2022 survey will also include a new component focusing on global competencies, such as cultural awareness and digital literacy.

The 2022 PISA assessment will be administered to nearly 600,000 students in 79 countries, with a focus on those countries most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The survey will be administered online in a variety of languages and will measure students’ ability to read, understand and use written texts, interpret graphs and tables, solve problems and work with digital technologies.

The purpose of the PISA survey is to provide policy makers with useful data and information on the performance of students in different countries. This data is then used to inform policies and practices related to education and curriculum development in those countries.

The questions posed in the 2022 PISA assessment are expected to be more complex and challenging than those posed in the past. They will include questions on topics such as data literacy, the use of digital tools, and the ability to analyse complex information. Additionally, the questions will focus on the application of knowledge and skills to real-world problems.

The PISA survey provides an important source of data for policy makers and educators. It provides a snapshot of how well students in different countries are performing academically, and helps to identify areas where additional focus and resources are needed. The 2022 PISA assessment will be a valuable tool for policy makers as they attempt to ensure that students around the world have the skills and knowledge needed for success in the 21st century.
