NUST Programmes and Cut Off Points
The National University of Science and Technology (NUST) is one of the top universities in Pakistan. It has established itself as a leader in technical and engineering education and research in the country. It offers a wide range of programmes and courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels.
NUST has four academic schools: the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and the School of Chemical and Materials Engineering. Each school offers a variety of engineering and technology programmes at different levels.
NUST offers admission to various programmes based on its own entry test, known as NET (National Entry Test). NET is a computer-based test conducted by NUST. It evaluates the aptitude, attitude and knowledge of the applicants in different areas such as mathematics, physics and chemistry.
The cut-off scores for different programmes at NUST vary from year to year and depend on the number of applicants. Generally, the cut-off scores for undergraduate programmes range from 60-70 per cent. The cut-off scores for postgraduate programmes range from 70-80 per cent, whereas the cut-off scores for doctoral programmes range from 80-90 per cent.
In addition to the NET scores, NUST also considers the academic record, work experience and other achievements of the candidates in order to determine their eligibility for admission.
NUST also offers courses in the fields of humanities, management sciences and social sciences. The cut-off scores for these courses are generally lower than the cut-off scores for engineering and technology programmes.
NUST provides a world-class education and research environment and offers many opportunities for students to excel. It is one of the most prestigious universities in Pakistan and is well-known for its quality education and research. NUST continues to strive for excellence in teaching and research and is one of the top universities in the country.
