Jimma University is one of the oldest and largest universities in Ethiopia. It was established in 1952 and is located in the city of Jimma, in Oromia Region. The university is committed to providing quality education to its students and has established a rigorous grading system to ensure that they are held to a high academic standard.

The grading system at Jimma University is based on a 100-point scale. A student receives a grade between 0 and 100 points for each course they take. For each course, the student must achieve a passing score of 60 or above to receive credit for the course.

The grading system at Jimma University also includes a system of grade modifiers. These modifiers are used to indicate a student’s performance in the course. A “+” indicates the student performed above the passing grade, while a “-” indicates the student performed below the passing grade.

In addition, Jimma University has a system of classifications that indicate the academic standing of its students. For example, a student with a GPA (grade point average) of 3.0 or higher is considered “excellent” and is awarded the distinction of “honor student”. A student with a GPA of 2.5-2.9 is considered “good” and is awarded the distinction of “high honors student”.
